Methods

Participating children and adult dyslexics are from local educators, Great Basin College, home teaching facilities and community referrals.

The necessary eye exercise and reading method are integral parts to the explanation and description of a new cause and treatment for dyslexia. Because of this, the evaluation methods, stereoscopic eye exercise and reading method are given in their entirety (11)*. A further recommendation is to include non-words in the evaluation procedure. Dyslexia is established on history, visual symptoms and reading abilities.

After completion of the evaluation form, epipolar line region evaluation is carried out. Movement of reading materials vertically on a normal reading distance arc is used to produce changes in cyclovergence eye rotation. One or more cyclovergence areas of retinal stereoscopic matching are made to normally correspond and dyslexic reading problems disappear.

Normal table top reading distance is extended through 30 degree arc-like increments upward from the table top. At each 30 degrees, reading print is recorded as described according to motion, clarity and word appearance (Figure 1). An immediate repeat evaluation is performed as the clearest region is often unexpected. Following this new clarity discovery, the previous decreased clarity or slight word motion at the original table top reading site may only now become apparent for the first time. The individual's normal reading distance is used for vergence studies. Also, increased clarity may be too subtle for the young and not appreciated.
